2018年11月23日，中國駐巴基斯坦卡拉奇總領館遭遇襲擊事件，造成2名警察和2名平民不幸遇難，3名恐怖分子被全部擊斃。CSTG巴基斯坦子公司卡拉奇項目部距事發地距離不到400米。事發當時，項目負責人廖云迅速反應、及時應對，指揮安保人員關閉大門，并組織所有員工低頭趴下，尋找安全場所進行隱蔽防護。事后，他提出加強項目部安保等級并安排人員做好項目外圍巡邏警戒。同時，在主管領導王偉總的指示下，項目部立即啟動防恐襲應急預案，并統計清點中方人數，通過安保信息群發布緊急消息，要求項目人員嚴禁離開辦公區和生活區。
得知仍有部分員工及家屬在外，廖云親自帶領安保人員駕駛防彈車先后4次前往高危地區接送人員，最近的地點離交火區僅有200米。子公司在獲知此情后，緊急聯系廖云，共同分析研判當前形勢，完善應急預案，強化安全措施，指導其具體開展相關安保業務。同時，針對伊斯蘭堡客戶，以分別上門走訪的形式，對其通報相關信息，檢查安保人員執勤情況，并在提高項目地安全等級、加強現場巡邏等方面做出了重點強調。
此外，巴子公司第一時間從不同渠道搜集獲取掌握事件動態，分析判斷發展趨勢并發布動態預警信息。巴子公司總經理姚小寧還接受了鳳凰衛視記者采訪，針對當前形勢，從專業角度向在巴中資機構和企業提出了相關措施和建議。
